Thinking about buying in Spain but worried about where to start? Property purchase in Spain is not difficult but it is different to the UK and there are a number of things you need to know. When we were looking for our first property we were introduced to Steve Nott of Javea Casas. Having read all the negative press about pushy agents working for commission we were worried we would be pushed into something we didn't want. our worries were completely unfounded. Steve works in conjunction with a number of local estate agents and, after discussing your requirements, will arrange a viewing schedule. What surprised us was that Steve offers no opinion unless asked. He put us under absolutely no pressure to buy any particular property and offered helpful, sound advice. When we decided to buy he guided us through the legal and financial process, "held our hands" all the way and helped us with our 1001 questions. We found Javea Casas on the internet and we decided to give them a call. We were very naive in understanding what it would entail finding our dream home. Steve made the whole viewing process simple and stress free by helping us to surf for properties on the internet with only the reputable estate agents, that Steve has worked with for many years, before we arrived in Spain. He set up all the viewing appointments and came with us on all of them. This was invaluable, as we don't know how we would ever have found most of the properties, if we had done this on our own. He gave us a lot of really helpful free advice about mortgages and the Spanish laws during our visits and although we had bought all the law books and had done our homework beforehand, we soon realised there is no substitute for taking advice from someone who has already purchased properties time and time again in the region. We viewed approx 45 properties and at no time did we feel pressured to buy or that we were becoming an inconvenience. His service was totally free if charge to us at all times. His knowledge of the whole region, helped us immensely to find a home that fitted our list of requirements, far quicker than we would have done on our own and he didn't stop there, once we had moved in, he continued to be very helpful in passing on referrals for plumbers, electricians and builders. Steve and his wife Dawn are a valuable asset as experienced property advisors. They take a real pride in settling people in a region that they quiet clearly love, and this really shows in the pride they take in their work, when they help you to find your new home.

Now that we are the proud owners of a LOVELY apartment in sunny Spain, we would like to thank you so very much for all the help and advice you so willlingly passed on to us. We really wouldn't have managed without you, especially your help with the language barrier, your suggestions with regard to solicitors, your help with our setting up bank accounts etc., etc. and of course, once it had all gone through, your help with regard to our furnishing the apartment. Also thank you for introducing us to Michele and Steve!!. Also the fact that you were able to let us stay in your apartment during our various visits to Spain made everything so much easier for us, together with you driving us here, there and everywhere - how would we have managed without you!!!.
