One of the most desirable neighboring cities to Javea is Alicante. Also located on the Costa Blanca, Alicante has a past dating back to prehistoric times. Modern maintenance of the city has kept it in a desirable condition and tourists come from all over the world to view its architecture and beautiful beaches. It is no wonder that Alicante is experiencing such a real estate boom- it combines Old Spain with modern day luxury. Its only an hour car drive, south from Javea and well worth a visit. You could also take a train on the narrow gauge railway track. Its journey starts from Denia, with stops in Teulada, Gata, Altea, Calpe and Benidorm.
